American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in San Francisco, California. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/08/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Dec 8, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 2 Description American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN with a California license, BSN, and at least 2 years of ICU experience at a 2:1 patient ratio for a 13-week assignment. Details ICU setting including Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Units 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) on a variable schedule 1:2 patient to nurse ratio Epic charting system experience required Float to other UCSF facilities as needed based on job specifications Requirements Active CA RN license required at time of submission BSN required AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years of ICU experience with a 2:1 patient ratio Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history Epic EMR experience required Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration Experience managing ventilated patients, titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips, and interpreting ABGs preferred Experience with CVA/stroke management, ICP monitoring, and hypothermia protocols preferred Charge nurse, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred Additional Information Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting supporting complex medical and surgical cases May be reassigned to a different unit or facility within a 75 mile radius if qualified for that role Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or affiliates must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review All requested time off must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted once the contract begins Time off is not permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment COVID-19 vaccination and booster required, or proof of a scheduled booster appointment prior to the start date Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months required American Traveler Job ID P- .
