American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in San Francisco, California. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 16, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I Trauma center requiring CA RN licensure and night shift availability. Details Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, Weekend rotation required, no on-call Floating required as needed Epic charting system experience required Level I Trauma Center setting Neuro and Surgical ICU work settings Requirements Active California RN license Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications 3 years of ICU experience required, 4 years preferred CCRN and TNCC certifications preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Previous charge experience preferred Proficiency in IV therapy, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory therapies (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC) Experience managing vasoactive and cardiac drips, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and interpretation Experience with CVA/stroke management, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgical care Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure management preferred ECMO and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring experience preferred 2 references from supervisors obtained within the past year required Additional Information Provide critical care to complex ICU patients including those requiring advanced cardiac, neurological, and respiratory interventions Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and acute conditions Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal and TAVR/valve repair care Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing 7-year work history verification required for all candidates Holiday coverage required for one of the following: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request approved Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at local rate Returning staff must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler First-time travelers considered if all requirements are met American Traveler Job ID P- .
