Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 16, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Level I Trauma Center night shift position requiring 3 years of ICU experience and CA RN licensure. Details Work in a Neuro/Surgical Intensive Care Unit within a Level I Trauma Center Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Weekend rotation required with no on-call responsibilities Floating required as needed Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active CA RN license required Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS required; CCRN and TNCC preferred Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required, 4 years preferred Level I Trauma Center experience required Teaching hospital experience preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning Experience managing acute/chronic renal failure and CVVHD/CRRT preferred Skilled in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation Experience with CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgical care Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ failure care ECMO and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring experience preferred Knowledge of infection prevention practices and isolation precautions/PPE Experience with IV insulin protocols 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to complex ICU patients including neurological, surgical, cardiovascular, and multisystem organ failure cases Collaborate within a high-acuity trauma center environment Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Former employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as travelers First-time travelers may be considered if all requirements are met American Traveler Job ID P- .
