Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse (IMCU RN) in a high-acuity 16-bed IMC/ICU stepdown located in the specialty of IMCU. The role involves providing advanced patient care in a dynamic environment, assisting with various critical procedures, and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams. The position offers a challenging opportunity for experienced RNs to contribute to patient recovery and management.
Job Details:
Position Description: Specialty: IMCU RN. Start date: 10/26/26. Shift: 3x12 Nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend requirement: 3-4 weekends per 4-week block. Holidays: Scheduled as needed. Float: Float rotation may be required.
Qualifications: Valid MD or Compact RN License. Certifications: BLS and CPI required; ACLS preferred. Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in IMCU/ICU or similar high-acuity units, with 2-3 years experience in managing complex patient conditions.
Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Assist in central line insertion, chest tube insertion, para/thoracentesis. Perform bedside hemodialysis, plasmapheresis, cardioversion, adenosine administration, chemo management, IVIG treatments, trach exchanges, and bronchoscopies with secure airway management.
Manage high-acuity patients including those requiring ICU step-up or step-down care, with a focus on post-transplant, trauma, surgical, COVID-19, CVA, and complex medical patients.
Collaborate with respiratory therapy and pharmacy teams to deliver comprehensive care.
Provide patient care utilizing ultrasound-guided IV placement and manage arterial lines, ports, and various ventilator and airway devices.
Maintain adherence to hospital policies, scope of practice, and safety standards, including PPE and isolation precautions.
Submission of compliance documentation within 5 days prior to start date required.
