Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Oct 5, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring acute care experience and a TX or compact RN license. Details Inpatient Med/Surg unit (1 East) located on the 1st floor of the main hospital building between the ED and HVC 29-bed unit with 42 staff members Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, 2 LVNs, 2 techs, and 1 HUC; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, and 2 LVNs Patient ratio of 6:1 Standard unit equipment Uses Meditech EMR Schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7A-7P Every other weekend required, no on-call Floating required to other inpatient Med/Surg units Requirements Active TX or compact RN license BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience required Neuro Med/Surg experience preferred General medicine and orthopedics experience preferred Experience with abdominal fluid removal and central line placement procedures preferred US SSN and DOB required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted) No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Care for general medicine, orthopedic, and neuro Med/Surg patient populations Scrub color is royal blue; no sweatshirts, t-shirts, crocs, artificial nails, or extreme hair colors permitted Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted Best suited for candidates with a strong interpersonal, people-oriented personality American Traveler Job ID P- .
