Thrive Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Nashville, Tennessee.

Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Description This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a medical-surgical unit. The role includes providing care to a diverse patient population with varying medical needs.
Unit Information Number of Beds: 36
Patient Ratios: 1:4 / 1:5
Unit Staffing: Secretary available daily; PRN techs
Type of Equipment: PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, Alaris IV Pumps
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling Requirements: 4 weekend shifts in each 4-week block
Floating Policy: Will float over core staff as needed
Patient Care Responsibilities Responsible for performing basic patient assessments and general care for the following conditions:
Wound care
Tracheostomy care
Ostomy care
Drain management
Chest tube management
Care for patients post-stroke
Seizure precautions
The patient population may also require dialysis support or PCA pump management, with heparin as the only drip medication used.
Post-Operative Procedures Amputations
Ostomy procedures
Drain management
Chest tube placements
Oral surgeries
Wound vac application
Dress Code Scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue are required.
Qualifications Certifications: BLS, NIHSS
Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years
