American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Anniston, Alabama. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/02/2026 Duration: 8 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 2, 2026 Length: 8 weeks Openings: 2 Description American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring AL or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience. Details Medical Surgical unit caring for adult and geriatric patients Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with option for 4x12s Every other weekend required Floating required May occasionally be asked to charge Patient ratio of 1:6 30-minute lunch break required with no skipped meals Requirements Active AL or compact RN license required (pending license accepted) Current BLS certification via AHA required Fit test required NIHSS certification preferred Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required Previous charge experience preferred Level II Trauma experience preferred Experience with any charting system required (Paragon preferred) Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs Experience with peripheral line and PICC line care preferred Blood product administration experience preferred Colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube care experience preferred Experience administering Heparin, Insulin, and PCA medications preferred Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac Experience with nasal cannula and oxygen administration preferred Surgical drain management experience preferred Additional Information Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients, including wound care and IV therapy Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position Local candidates within 60 miles are considered, at a lower bill rate Requested time off must not exceed 7 days Hospital housing is available for this assignment American Traveler Job ID P- .
