Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg
Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Med/Surg team in a post-operative care unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing attentive and compassionate care to patients and their families, ensuring a positive patient experience.
Unit Information Number of Beds: 34
Patient Ratios: 6:1
Staffing: Tech support on both day and night shifts; Unit Secretary available from 7 AM to 7 PM.
Type of Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Ox Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG Machines, Bladder Scanner, iMobile Communication Technology.
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling Requirements Three 12-hour shifts per week, with two weekends (four shifts) included in a four-week schedule.
Floating Policy Contract labor staff will be the first to float. Staff will be floated based on a rotation system when multiple contract labor staff members are scheduled.
Patient Experience Expectations All staff are expected to provide compassionate and attentive care, engage in bedside shift reports, and actively involve patients and their family members in the plan of care.
Qualifications Required Skills: Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitasking, IV insertion, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes.
Must Have: Active RN license and BLS certification.
Advanced Skills: Not applicable.
Procedures Performed on Unit: Not applicable.
Certifications Required: BLS
Dress Code Mandatory uniform consists of navy scrubs, tops, and bottoms.
