Patient Ratios: Day Shift 1:4-6, Night Shift 1:5-7
EMR: Cerner
General Information Job Responsibilities As a Registered Nurse (RN) in this unit, you will:
Provide high-quality patient care and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Monitor and assess patients' health status and implement appropriate interventions.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Prepare and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Collaborate with team members to facilitate patient care and improve outcomes.
Qualifications To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
Telemetry rhythm capabilities.
Strong critical thinking and time management skills.
Ability to assess medical-surgical level patients and notify appropriate personnel when acuity levels change.
Effective communication skills and punctuality for work shifts.
Preferred Skills While not mandatory, the following skills are preferred:
ACLS certification.
Typical Procedures Routine tasks performed within this unit include:
Administering IV fluids and antibiotics.
Providing tube feeds and peg feedings.
Best Personality Fit The ideal candidate is a team player who is willing to assist colleagues and collaborate effectively with both nursing staff and CNAs.
Required Certifications BLS certification is mandatory.
Floating Areas Staff may be required to float to other medical-surgical units and occasionally assist in the holding pod of the emergency department.
Dress Code Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Weekend Requirements Every other weekend commitment or a total of 6 weekend shifts per pay period is expected.
Experience A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
