Position OverviewNuWest is seeking highly skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses for an 8-week assignment at a medical center in a large metropolitan city with a diverse population. RNs will care for diverse adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions, including pre- and post-operative care, respiratory illness, infection, cardiac conditions, diabetes management, gastrointestinal disorders, and orthopedic procedures. Candidates must be fully committed to completing the 8-week assignment.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct care to adult medical-surgical patients across a wide range of conditions, including pre- and post-operative care
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient progress
Develop and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments as ordered
Provide patient and family education
Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
Document care accurately and promptly in the medical record
Follow infection control, safety, and patient privacy standards
Required QualificationsActive California RN license
Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience in a medical center in a metropolitan city
Current AHA BLS, MAB or CPI, and Los Angeles City Fire and Life Safety card (must be LA City)
Completion of the required employee health clearance before the assignment start date
Must be able to pass required background checks and drug screening
