Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical Unit. This unit provides a dynamic and challenging environment for nurses to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population, including post-surgical cases and those with various medical conditions.
Shift Details:
36 hours per week
Every Other Weekend required
No On Call responsibilities
Unit Overview:
The Medical Surgical Unit features 60 beds with mixed acuity, catering to patients with traumas, strokes, and hospice care. Our environment is fast-paced and offers exceptional learning opportunities while ensuring safety and delivering quality care that supports positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on thorough assessments.
Engage in lifelong learning through professional development, certifications, and continuing education.
Demonstrate leadership by being a clinical resource and professional role model among peers.
Utilize effective communication strategies with team members and patients, including the SBAR technique.
Exhibit solid time management skills to enhance team productivity and performance.
Perform additional duties as directed to support patient care and unit objectives.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of direct Med Surg experience (not float, SDU, or TELE).
Experience in a Level II or I Trauma unit is preferred.
Active Michigan RN license is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is mandatory.
