Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/17/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 17, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and at least 2 years of Tele and Med/Surg experience. Details Med/Surg Tele unit in a teaching hospital setting Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) Patient ratio of 1:5 Uses Cerner charting system Uses Philips Tele monitoring system Must be able to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75 mile radius if job specifications are met Requirements Active CA RN license required at time of submission BSN required AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years of Tele and Med/Surg experience required Surgical orthopedic experience required Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history Community hospital experience required Trauma Level I and Level II experience required Previous charge nurse experience required Experience with Philips Tele monitoring system required PCRN or CCRN certification preferred Critical care experience preferred Ortho experience preferred Acute care nursing experience preferred LTAC experience preferred Two professional references from most recent employer required at time of consideration Additional Information Provide nursing care to Med/Surg and orthopedic trauma patients, including total joint replacement and peripheral nerve block catheter management Perform telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac emergency response Skilled in wound care, IV therapy, blood product administration, and respiratory management including BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster required, or proof of scheduled booster appointment before start date Must disclose any prior employment with University of California medical facilities, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review All RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of assignment or mid-contract requests Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months required American Traveler Job ID P- .
