Concentric Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Martinsville, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Candidates residing within 50–100 miles of the facility may be subject to a reduced rate or may not be accepted. Applicants must have worked in this unit or setting within the past year to be considered for this position. Job Title Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Nights) Location Martinsville, VA | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend and holidays as needed Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 41-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving patients of all ages, with common diagnoses including post-operative orthopedic procedures and total joint replacements Maintain a 1:4 patient-to-nurse ratio while applying critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced, stressful environment Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EHR system Float to other units and travel within a 25-mile radius of the facility as needed to ensure appropriate nursing coverage Participate in call requirements as needed and maintain flexibility across all shift patterns including weekends and holidays Adhere to facility dress code; scrubs required (no specific color mandated), no casual wear permitted Required Qualifications Active RN licensure valid in the state of Virginia Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, Handle with Care, and NIH Stroke Scale Minimum 1–2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience Ability to work with minimal supervision and take appropriate action in stressful clinical situations Must consent to random on-site drug screening and complete a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates Preferred Experience / Skills Experience with telemetry monitoring in a Medical Surgical setting Familiarity with Meditech or comparable EHR platforms Experience caring for post-operative orthopedic and total joint replacement patients Demonstrated flexibility in scheduling across varied shift patterns Why Join Us Work at a full-service, accredited acute-care hospital offering comprehensive medical specialties including cardiac, oncology, surgical, and emergency services Located near the Blue Ridge Mountains with access to outdoor recreation, cultural events, and the historic Martinsville Speedway area Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID .
