Travel RN Job Details Location: Pikeville, Kentucky Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890 Contract Length: 8 weeks Start Date: October 12, 2026 End Date: December 5, 2026 Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week; 36-hour schedules are not accepted Healthcare Setting: 340-bed Level II Trauma Center with Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6 Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holiday rotation required unless time off is approved Scheduling: No blocked scheduling Scrub Color: Black Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse Requirements Active Kentucky or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience required AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification Associate degree or nursing certificate Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips EKG assessment required during the compliance process CareView or Epic charting experience preferred; on-site training is available COVID-19 vaccination is required unless an approved medical or religious declination applies; approved declinations require weekly testing Strong communication, teamwork, dependability, resilience, and adaptability Travel Nurse Responsibilities Deliver safe, comprehensive nursing care to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients Monitor cardiac rhythms and accurately identify and respond to changes in patient condition Complete patient assessments, medication administration, care planning, clinical documentation, and patient education Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment and discharge planning Float among Med/Surg and Telemetry units and other inpatient areas as needed Assist with aide-level duties when required to support inpatient unit operations Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented approach while managing change in a high-acuity healthcare environment Apply now for this Med/Surg Telemetry travel nursing contract in Pikeville, Kentucky, and join a dedicated inpatient healthcare team.
