American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Columbia, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/07/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs Hours: 48 hrs/wk Start Date: Dec 7, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring a MO or compact RN license and at least 1.5 years of M/S experience. Details Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a hospital setting Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00 Patient ratio of 1:5-6 Float to the adult MS Cluster required, including float assignments to MS/Tele as part of mandatory floating pool Cerner charting system preferred 36 or 48 hour contract options available Requirements Active MO or Compact RN license in hand BLS certification required CMSRN certification preferred 1.5-2 years of Med/Surg experience required, with 2 years preferred Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management Respiratory skills including oral suctioning, oxygen administration, and nasal cannula use preferred Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia interpretation preferred Experience with wound care/wound vac preferred Experience in ortho trauma, total joint replacement, renal failure, and neurological/psychiatric care preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs Additional Information Provide direct patient care in a 24/7 acute care hospital environment, including contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses Mandatory floating required, including Patient Observer/Sitter duties as needed Required to work 50% of holidays occurring during the contract, with flexibility on which holidays are worked to meet this requirement Rotating shifts and work during inclement weather may be required Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none allowed during the first week due to orientation First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted, though those within 50 miles are not eligible and those 51-74 miles qualify for the local rate Local candidates are not eligible for extensions beyond the initial contract American Traveler Job ID P- .
