Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) Location: Not Specified. The healthcare organization seeks dedicated Medical Surgical RNs to provide patient care on a 38-bed unit with a diverse patient population, including surgical and medical diagnoses. The role involves working rotating shifts, including nights, with opportunities to float to other units as needed.
Job Details
Position Description: Provides patient-centered care for adults and older teens with conditions such as pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory viruses, and surgical cases involving orthopedics, general surgery, spinal, and urology procedures.
Required Qualifications: Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certification, CPI certification, valid RN license, 1 year of Medical Surgical experience, proficiency with EPIC documentation, ability to work 1:6 patient ratios, experience with bedside shift report, and titrating drugs such as Heparin, Bumex, and Lasix.
Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: The role entails teamwork, bedside shift reports, proactive patient rounding, and may include floating to intermediate care units. Orientation is 1.5 shifts; scrubs are navy blue.
Submission Requirements: Capable of submitting license to the organization.
