Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) Pagosa Springs, Colorado. This position involves providing inpatient care to patients within the Medical Surgical unit. Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, administering treatments, documenting care, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes during assigned shifts.

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Floor
Department: Medical Surgical Unit
Location: Pagosa Springs, Colorado
Shift: Day Shift, 06:15 to 18:45
Schedule: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Certifications, Education, and Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience; previous traveler experience required; Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR)/Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience required; Graduate of an accredited RN program; Current Colorado or Compact RN license; Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; Basic computer skills and electronic health record experience required.
Responsibilities: Provide patient care within the RN scope of practice according to physician/provider orders; perform comprehensive assessments, care planning, and interventions; monitor patient conditions; administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, blood products, and other treatments; operate infusion pumps; complete Cerner documentation accurately; perform age-specific nursing care; demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation; educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, and discharge planning; follow infection prevention practices; maintain patient confidentiality; collaborate with healthcare team; mentor other nursing staff.
Work Environment: Performed in a hospital setting with exposure to work and environmental stress, frequent interruptions, and potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, communicable diseases, and hazardous materials; requires heavy physical activity including lifting and moving patients.
Additional Requirements: Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, sound judgment, adaptability; work independently in a fast-paced environment; comply with facility policies and safety standards.
