Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor RN Nights, located in the healthcare providers facility, provides essential nursing care to patients with various medical conditions. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care and ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards.
Job Details
Position Description: The nurse will care for patients on a medical-surgical unit with 37 beds, including private and semi-private rooms. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient status, and documenting in the electronic medical record system.
Required Qualifications: Active IL license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; BLS (American Heart Association); minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting.
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: The role requires working every other weekend, potential holiday work, and may include floating to other floors if competency is demonstrated. The unit manages patients with diagnoses such as COPD, Sepsis, CVA, COVID, pneumonia, and post-surgical care, including hips, knees, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, bowel resections, among others. Orientation includes 2 days of department training and 1 day of hospital/EMR orientation.
Submission Requirements: Last four digits of Social Security Number, active IL license or proof of application, confirmation of understanding of drug-free campus, and acceptance of OSF policy terms are required for submission.
