A Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) specializing in the Diabetic Renal Unit at a healthcare provider location. This role involves providing high-quality patient care on a 12-hour day shift basis, with assignments starting from November 30, 2026, through February 27, 2027. The position requires charge nurse responsibilities and offers the opportunity to contribute to a teaching hospital environment.
Job Details:
Position Description: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Diabetic Renal Unit, 12-hour Day Shift (7-7). Assignments begin on 11/30/2026, ending on 02/27/2027, with orientation dates on 11/2, 11/16, and 11/30. The unit requires flexibility to meet staffing needs and do not accommodate block schedules. The role involves working at least one major holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and/or New Years Day).
Required Qualifications: 2 years of relevant experience, BLS certification, active VA or Compact license, willingness to do charge nurse duties, and RTO requests documented at submission.
Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification, teaching hospital experience, charge nurse experience preferred.
Schedule: Days, 12-hour shift, minimum 48 hours per week.
Additional Information: The facility can cancel assignments up to 36 hours prior due to census fluctuations. All team members, including travelers, are expected to support the educational environment and interact with students and new staff.
