Responsibilities
Ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors around the MRI magnetic field.
Position patients and coils on the MRI table.
Inject contrast media as required.
Set technical parameters, operate MRI scanners, and monitor image data during scans.
Recognize differences between normal and abnormal images.
Identify and respond to life‑threatening situations.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
Deliver quality, cost‑effective patient care in a professional manner.
Promote safe work environments and national patient safety initiatives.
Qualifications
Completed a two‑year approved School of Radiologic Technology.
Valid state radiology registration as required by state law.
Minimum eighteen months of MRI experience, preferred in a critical care setting.
Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
