nJoin a leading acute-care hospital as a Med Surg/Telemetry Float Registered Nurse in Wilmington, NC. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, floating between the Emergency Department and MedSurg areas to provide exceptional care to patients. As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for managing patients with various medical/surgical diagnoses, including those requiring telemetry monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
n Monitor and manage patients in the ED Holding unit, awaiting inpatient beds.n
Float to ED and MedSurg areas as needed, providing care for MS/Tele cases.n
Perform essential nursing skills such as telemetry monitoring, colostomy care, feeding tube management, and more.n
Utilize rapid response teams effectively and manage patients with dysrhythmias.n
Administer blood products, manage peripheral lines, and perform phlebotomy.n
Provide care for patients with high acuity needs, including PCU level patients.n
Required Skills & Certifications:
n Minimum 2 years of traveler experience in a similar role.n
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.n
Proficient in interpretation of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring.n
Experience with colostomy care, renal failure management, and blood product administration.n
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
n NIHSS, IV insulin protocols, and pre/post hemodialysis management.n
Experience with central line blood draws, starting IVs, and managing spinal cord injuries.n
This position requires a commitment to working every other weekend and may involve participation in a Storm Team or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events. The target patient ratios are 1:6 for Med Surg/Telemetry and 1:4 for PCU level patients. Orientation for this role will be 12 hours, and navy scrubs are required.
