Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with 1 year of recent Med Surg and telemetry experience for a 13-week day shift assignment.
Details
Med/Surg Tele unit setting
Patient ratio of 1:5-6
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Orientation held every Monday
Float to other MS units required if needed, with potential to float to PCU if skills align
Meditech charting system used, prior experience preferred but not required
Potential for remote telemetry monitoring responsibilities
Requirements
Active AZ or compact RN license required
Current BLS certification required
ACLS certification required if floating to PCU
CPI certification preferred
Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg/Tele acute care experience required
Telemetry experience required due to potential remote monitoring duties
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Community hospital experience preferred
Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
Experience with oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management preferred
Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration) and heparin protocols
Additional Information
Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg Tele unit, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
Holiday coverage required
Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
Locals and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
Travel pairs accepted
RTO should be kept to a minimum at time of consideration
