Key Responsibilities
Scrub and assist with Electrophysiology cases including device implantations and ablation procedures
Manipulate angiography equipment, including mobile and digital angiographic systems; select and modify exposure factors and evaluate and process digital images
Assist the surgeon or radiologist with diagnostic and interventional procedures, applying sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology to produce optimal results
Provide pre- and post-procedure patient care as needed, and assist with lifting, moving, and transporting patients
Maintain cleanliness of all necessary equipment and supplies involved in EP and special procedures; perform routine department duties when not performing special procedures
Work collaboratively with Radiology staff, OR staff, surgeons, and interventional radiologists; flu vaccination or approved exemption is required from November 1 through April 1
Required Qualifications
Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or be currently licensed in Missouri
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
Minimum 1 year of EP lab experience
Proficiency with digital angiography equipment, interventional equipment, PACS, and computers
Ability to stand for extended periods while wearing lead apron, mask, gown, glasses, and gloves
Ability to recognize and adapt to emergency and stressful situations; communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Experience / Skills
ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
Experience with EPIC EMR
Familiarity with cardiovascular patient populations
Collaborative, easygoing personality with the ability to work well within a team-oriented environment
