Travel Nursing Job Details Job Title: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) / Telemetry Travel Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Location: Henderson, Kentucky Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract Start Date: November 16, 2026 End Date: February 14, 2027 Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930–$2,030 Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday Call Requirement: None Electronic Medical Record: Recent Epic experience required; an Epic checkoff class may be required Float Expectations: First to float within the RN's skill set; cross-campus float may be required with advance notice Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements At least 2 years of Registered Nurse experience, including 1 solid year of cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or PCU experience At least 1 year of professional nursing experience and completion of at least 1 prior travel nursing assignment Current, active compact RN license American Heart Association BLS certification American Heart Association ACLS certification NIHSS certification Associate degree or nursing certificate as required for the assignment Recent Epic charting experience Ability to successfully complete required telemetry testing Strong patient assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and adaptability skills Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac stepdown, telemetry, and progressive care patients Care for patients with sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA, cirrhosis, and dementia, as well as surgical, urology, abdominal, and orthopedic conditions Interpret telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status Initiate and titrate insulin, heparin, and cardiac infusions according to orders and clinical protocols Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, identify clinical deterioration, and escalate concerns promptly Manage telemetry-related care, blood product administration, chest tubes and drains, continuous BiPAP, CBI, and other applicable stepdown interventions Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic Float within the assigned skill set and support patient care needs across designated areas when requested Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, effective, patient-centered care Demonstrate resilience, professionalism, and a team-oriented approach in a fast-paced clinical setting Apply now for this Cardiac Stepdown RN travel nursing opportunity in Henderson, Kentucky, and take the next step in your nursing career.
