Job Title
Registered Nurse – Cardiac Step-Down
Location
Columbia, SC | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Rotating weekends | Holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a Cardiac Step-Down unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
Monitor patients via telemetry and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
Perform IV starts and other required clinical skills within scope of practice
Float between like units or campuses as needed based on census and staffing requirements, adjusting to the ratio of the receiving unit
Participate in rotating weekend coverage and holiday shifts as required
May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
Required Qualifications
Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license (candidates with a pending license may be considered with proof of application; must have active SC license prior to start)
BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
ACLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Step-Down or relevant RN experience
Telemetry and IV start skills required
Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be given priority consideration; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior travel nursing experience preferred
Experience with Epic EMR
Familiarity with acute care hospital environments
