Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care for an adult to geriatric population on a cardiac stepdown/overflow IMCU unit with a 1:5–6 patient ratio across a 32-bed unit
Manage cardiac conditions including CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (stable A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia), post cardiac cath, and TR Band management
Administer and monitor continuous IV drip medications including cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin), diuretics (Bumex, Lasix), anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin), and insulin drips
Care for patients with pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT), renal conditions, DKA, and surgical patients (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains)
Apply arrhythmia management skills including cardioversion; perform duties across the full Med/Surg scope as needed
Float within the facility within scope of practice as needed; work assigned holidays per facility policy
Required Qualifications
Active Georgia RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
Prior travel nursing experience required; experience managing continuous IV drip medications (cardiac drips, anticoagulants, insulin drips) must be confirmed at time of submission
Proficiency with basic arrhythmia recognition and TR Band management required
Local candidates are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with Epic EMR preferred; familiarity with Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
Background in overflow IMCU or stepdown environments with exposure to vascular, orthopedic, or stroke patient overflow
Comfort working every other weekend and covering assigned major holidays as scheduled
