Job Description
nThis position requires the ability to assess, implement, and monitor patient care for outpatients assigned to observation status.
Responsibilities
n Regularly assess patient needs: Provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's authorized plan of care, adhering to accepted standards of nursing practice. (30%)
Direct patient care: Administer medications, perform treatments, respond to call lights, assist with patient transfers, and attend to alarm alerts. (30%)
Evaluate treatment effectiveness: Assess the treatment plan's effectiveness and collaborate with the healthcare team to update or revise the plan as necessary, utilizing current information to enhance patient care. (20%)
Process physician orders: Accurately and efficiently process physician/provider orders and complete assigned care tasks in a timely manner. (10%)
Follow up on medication changes: Manage and clarify any changes in medications as necessary. (10%)
n Qualifications
n 2+ years of observation experience.
Epic EMR experience is preferred.
Current and active Michigan nursing license.
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
n Work Requirements
n 36-hour weekly guarantee.
Availability to work every other weekend.
No on-call requirements.
