Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in Ketchikan, Alaska. This role involves providing critical emergency care in a Level IV Trauma Center serving as a regional referral hospital for Southeast Alaska. The ER Nurse will manage cardiac, critical care, trauma, psychiatric, and complex medical patients across all age groups in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
Certifications: AK RN license, ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC preferred. Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred.
Education & Experience: 2 years of ER RN experience preferred; 1 year required. Preference for candidates with pediatric or trauma emergency experience, ABG skills, telemetry experience, and prior travel experience.
Schedule: Rotating shifts including days and nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Independently manage patients with complex conditions, perform IV skills for all ages, interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias, intubate, administer emergency medications, and provide trauma and psychiatric care.
Additional information: Must demonstrate ability to work in high-volume, high-risk settings and work within scope to meet facility needs. Not eligible for block scheduling and must be willing to float within the scope of practice as needed.
