Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse specializing in emergency care at a high-volume, high-acuity medical facility. This role involves providing critical care to a diverse patient population, including geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients, in a fast-paced environment with a patient census of approximately 230 visits per day. The position requires high competency in stroke and STEMI protocols and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a Magnet-designated, stroke-certified facility located within a 50-mile radius.
Job Details
Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/06/2026 and ending on 01/05/2027.
Required Qualifications
Valid state license (compact license accepted)
2+ years of ER experience
Certifications in ACLS
BLS
NIHSS
PALS
and TNCC or CEN.
Preferred Qualifications
Epic charting system experience
additional certifications such as TNCC and CEN or CPN are highly preferred.
Additional Information
High acuity, high volume ER with a patient load that predominantly includes geriatric and adult patients, with approximately 10% pediatric cases transferred to a specialized pediatric hospital. Must be willing to work at least 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week cycle. Ability to float between units including TELE hold and ICU hold as needed. Candidates must have at least 2 years of ER experience, with 1.5 years being a strict minimum. The facility operates a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, and the role involves bedside procedures and transport of patients to various imaging and treatment units. RTO (Request for Time Off) requests must be included at submission, with a limit of 7 days at a time, and flexibility for holidays is required.
