Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Pompton Plains, New Jersey.

nnJob Summary
nnResponsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients across the perioperative continuum. Performs pre-admission testing, patient assessments, education, documentation, and coordination of care while ensuring patient safety and adherence to clinical standards.
nnKey Responsibilities
nnn Perform systematic, comprehensive, and accurate patient assessments across the lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric populations.
n Provide competent direct patient care based on the patient's condition, diagnosis, procedure, and type of anesthesia.
n Demonstrate knowledge and appropriate use of emergency equipment and procedures .
n Maintain complete and accurate nursing documentation, including patient assessments, education, interventions, and progress toward expected outcomes.
n Follow professional nursing standards, hospital policies, procedures, and applicable patient-safety guidelines.
n Provide professional, courteous, and patient-centered care while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
n Follow National Patient Safety Goals , Universal Protocol, and two-patient-identifier requirements.
n Demonstrate knowledge of surgical conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment encountered in perioperative care.
n Perform pre-operative and post-operative assessments and provide appropriate patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and instructions.
n Support Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) by completing required testing in a timely manner and evaluating PAT orders for appropriateness and potential omissions based on the planned surgery, patient age, and current health status.
n Prioritize patient care based on acuity, changing clinical conditions, and perioperative needs.
n Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure continuity of care throughout the surgical process.
n nnRequired Qualifications
nnn Minimum 1 year of experience in Critical Care, Cardiac, or Emergency Department nursing
n Active RN License – Required
n BLS – Required
n ACLS – Required
n PALS – Required for Pediatric ER only
n Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
n Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
