Job Description
nWe are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ED RN will provide high-quality patient care to a diverse patient population, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency nursing with the ability to handle a variety of critical situations.
Shift Information
nThis position requires a commitment to the following shift:
n 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM
n Responsibilities
n Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team to address emergencies such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
Utilize specialty equipment including Rapid Infusors and Arctic Sun.
Administer required drips and medications including pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, and sedation agents.
Participate in patient triage and care delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Accept the responsibility to care for all assigned patients, including those requiring Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) services.
n Qualifications
n Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department, including pediatric experience.
Current AHA certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC are required.
Active Nursing License in New York with verification from NURSYS.
Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC.
Demonstrated travel nursing experience is essential.
Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills.
n Unit Details
n Unit capacity: 64 beds with diverse patient pathways including 40 acute beds, 2 trauma beds, 6 super track beds, 2 triage areas, and a psychiatric unit.
Responsibility for managing patients with complex medical needs and varied diagnoses.
Floating to different areas of the department may be required.
Scrub color will be navy blue.
