Job description
Position
ER Holding Area Nurse (RN) in an Emergency Department observation unit.
Responsibilities
Provide adult patient care in a fast-paced environment, including assessment, documentation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point of care testing, splinting, and patient education. Float to ED Observation, Adult Medical Unit, and Psych units as needed.
Shift & Schedule
Rotating 12-hour shifts (days, evenings, nights), minimum 36 hours per week.
Qualifications
Active MA RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications. At least 2 years of clinical experience, including emergency department work, with strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
Key Skills
Ability to read tele strips, adapt to varying unit needs, and demonstrate strong patient care and education skills.
