Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | 3x12-Hour Shifts, Mids (15:30–04:00) | Every Other Weekend Required | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department serving all age ranges, including neonates
Manage and monitor patients presenting with chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, respiratory illness, and respiratory arrest
Operate specialized equipment including Belmont rapid infuser in trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, and Lucas device for cardiac arrests
Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower-acuity patient groups, within a 46-bed ED with an average daily census of 140
Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic charting system
Float within the Emergency Room specialty as needed; holidays worked as scheduled
Required Qualifications
Active Maryland RN license or Compact License at time of submission
BLS certification (AHA only)
ACLS certification (AHA only)
PALS certification (AHA only)
TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI certifications required (CPI online version must be "Calm Every Storm" vendor)
Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room RN experience required; travel experience preferred, though first-time travelers with 5+ years of ED experience may be considered
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals under 50 miles are not accepted unless otherwise specified)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior travel nursing experience
Experience with high-acuity patient populations including trauma, cardiac arrest, and stroke
Familiarity with specialized emergency equipment such as rapid infusers and mechanical CPR devices
