Job description
Role: ICU Travel Nurse (RN)
Responsibilities: Evaluate and monitor patients in an ICU setting, provide direct patient care, administer medications, interpret diagnostic tests, manage specialized equipment, ensure proper device placement, and communicate patient conditions to families. You will assess patient needs, document care, and support physician-directed treatments, including patient education and family support.
Qualifications & Skills: 1-2 years recent acute care experience, ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications, ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds, and handle hazards like chemicals and infectious diseases. Additional certifications may be required.
Key Duties
Provide bedside care and medication administration
Order and evaluate diagnostic tests
Monitor and adjust medical equipment
Interpret lab reports and electronic displays
Ensure proper functioning of medical devices
Communicate effectively with patients and families
Preferred Attributes: Strong assessment skills, physical stamina, and ability to handle challenging situations in a fast-paced ICU environment.
