Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, for patients with complex problems in an ICU setting
Perform patient assessments that address physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs, and synthesize data to determine care priorities
Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop, update, and communicate the plan of care
Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care
Identify and address discharge planning needs, cultural and ethnic considerations, and patient/family education needs
Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care practices
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC)
Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
Experience in an intensive care or critical care setting
