RN – Patient Care Unit (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed private unit (23 floor beds and 2 Medical Decision Unit beds) serving a diverse patient population including COPD exacerbation, CHF, swing bed, wound care, long-term antibiotic therapy, amputee care, post-partum, and pediatric patients
Maintain a standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with occasional stretch to 1:5
Utilize central telemetry monitoring and portable telemetry monitors to assess and respond to patient status changes
Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse and operate Alaris infusion pumps
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including a non-patient-carrying Charge Nurse, Social Services, Case Managers, Therapy, Lab, and Pharmacy staff
May float to the Emergency Department in a task nurse capacity only
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit
Previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital required
BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required
Personal reliable transportation is required — ride-share services are not available in this area
Preferred Experience / Skills
PALS certification (American Heart Association) preferred
Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR and Alaris infusion pumps
Familiarity with swing bed programs and extended-stay patient populations
