RN – Stepdown / Surgical IMCU
Location

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Day/Night Rotation, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend | Every other holiday
Key Responsibilities
Provide intermediate care nursing for post-operative patients transferred from PACU or SICU
Care for patients across a range of surgical specialties including cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant
Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
Operate automated medication dispensing systems
Manage patient assignments at ratios of 1:3 to 1:4-5 depending on patient acuity and unit census on a 38-bed unit
Required Qualifications
Active RN license
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
Surgical Stepdown experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center is required
IMCU/Stepdown experience required
Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
Telemetry assessment and critical care medication test required on day 1
Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility will be placed at a local rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience at a tertiary care facility
Prior travel nursing experience (more than one previous travel assignment preferred)
Familiarity with automated medication dispensing systems
