Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg setting within a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, with willingness to flex into other departments as needed
Identify patient and family education needs and deliver education using appropriate modalities
Ensure patient safety through proper use of side rails, restraints, and equipment; follow and document restraint policy in accordance with facility standards
Maintain complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, patient responses, and charge documentation throughout assigned shift
Process and verify physician orders in a timely manner, including 24-hour order checks when applicable to assigned shift
Report critical lab values to the physician per policy, implement infection control and isolation procedures, and maintain and restock emergency carts and general supplies
Required Qualifications
Active Washington State RN License required
Experience in PCU, Telemetry, and/or MedSurg nursing required
Demonstrated knowledge of safe operation of equipment used in PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas
Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and follow procedures for repair or escalation
Proficiency in standard precautions and infection control procedures
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a Critical Access Hospital environment
Comfort working in a flexible, multi-department capacity
Strong communication skills for accurate shift-to-shift handoff reporting and interdepartmental coordination
