Travel Labor & Delivery RN opportunity in Charlottesville, VA. Join a high-acuity women’s services team and provide expert maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital setting. This 13-week travel nursing assignment is ideal for an experienced L&D Registered Nurse who thrives in labor and delivery, fetal monitoring, and high-risk obstetric care.

Contract Length: 13 weeksn
Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shiftsn
Hours: 36 hours per weekn
Shifts Per Week: Typically 3n
Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 - $1,940n
Orientation: 36 hours, including specialty-specific trainingn
Weekend Coverage: Every other weekendn
Holiday Coverage: Every other holidayn
Setting Highlights: High-volume Labor & Delivery and women’s health unit with support for low-risk and high-risk obstetrical patientsn
Job Requirements
n Active Registered Nurse license; pending state license accepted if in hand by the Wednesday before the start daten
Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experiencen
Epic charting experience requiredn
Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and AWHONN Intermediaten
Strong clinical skills in fetal monitoring and obstetrical nursing caren
Ability to float within scope to Mother/Baby and NICU feeder/grower assignments as neededn
BSN preferredn
References requiredn
Travel nurses must meet all compliance requirements for submissionn
Responsibilities
n Provide safe, compassionate care for laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetrical patientsn
Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and respond appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal conditionn
Circulate for Cesarean sections and assist with OB PACU caren
Support triage, cerclage, bilateral tubal ligation, and fetal transfusion proceduresn
Care for a diverse patient population, including low-risk and high-risk maternal patientsn
Cross-train and float to Mother/Baby and NICU feeder/grower assignments when neededn
Administer medications, start and maintain IVs, and document care accurately in Epicn
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support excellent outcomes for mothers and newbornsn
