Unit Specifics

Number of Beds:24
Patient Ratios (ESTIMATED):2:1 and 3:1OBEDtriage
Unit staffing description:High risk obstetrical unit, labor and delivery
Type of equipment :GE fetal monitors
Documentation system:Meditech, CPN
Scheduling requirements: 3-12 hour night shift 7p-7a per week
Floating policy:As needed
Hospital Specifics
Certifications:
Must have (candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role)
High risk obstetrical bedside training, circulating in c/section in the labor and delivery area, recovering high acuity patients.
Specialty/Unit Certifications Required (RN/LVN/Tech)
Intermediate AWONN fetal monitoring certificate
Procedures performed on unit
Vaginal deliveries, c/sections,d&c,post deliveryrecovery care.
Patient Experience Required
At least 2 years high risk labor and delivery care
Dress Code: Include requirements, but most of all not acceptable attire
Nail Policy – Clean and Healthy, no artificial nails, gel, next gen, etc.
Hair - hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors. Beards, mustaches and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed.Hair must be pulled back if shoulder length or longer when working in the lab.
Tattoos – Body art should be covered whenever possible. Body art that is not feasible to cover on a daily basis will be addressed individually
Piercings – Visible piercings other than ears is prohibited.This includes nose rings, tongue rings, etc.
