Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification and EPIC experience.
Details
Labor and Delivery unit within a 162-bed acute care facility featuring a Level III NICU and county-designated trauma center
Care provided across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations and circulating for C-Sections
Night shift, , 36 hours per week
Schedule is based on unit need with no block scheduling
EPIC experience required
Requirements
Active CA RN license required
BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications required
Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or AWHONN certification required
Minimum two years of Labor & Delivery experience required
Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
No prior disciplinary action on nursing license permitted
Additional Information
Performs physical and psychosocial assessments considering age, cultural differences, and support for fetal demise
Initiates multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
Manages perinatal emergencies including crash C-section, precipitous delivery, and shoulder dystocia
Assesses fetal and maternal well-being, amniotic fluid status, and vaginal bleeding, recognizing and managing abnormalities
Manages labor pain control, including alternative pain control methods and epidural catheter placement support
Educates patients and families throughout all stages of the perinatal period
No radius rule applies; local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will not be considered
