The Labor and Delivery Nurse assumes responsibility andnaccountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery ofnpatient care in the L&D Setting. ThenLabor and Delivery Nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments innan effective and efficient manner with supervision.
The Labor and Delivery Nurse works with Mothers during thenfinal stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vitalnsigns, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possiblencomplications. The Labor and DeliverynNurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs ofnMothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performancenability in the coordination of patient care. nConsistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountablenin managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patientncare.
Minimum Requirements:
Current Registered Nurse license within the state ofnpractice
One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience withinnthe last three years preferred
RNC-OB Preferred
Complies with all relevant professional standards ofnpractice
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or statenregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
