Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) nurse position at a general surgery unit located in Asheville, NC. This role involves providing patient care in a busy, fast-paced environment on the 8th floor of a facility with 44 beds. The shift is scheduled for nights, with a focus on telemetry monitoring, managing urology and bowel patients, and working effectively within a dynamic team.
Job Details
Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), telemetry competency, ability to manage 6-7 patients depending on the shift, Urology and bowel experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with common procedures such as TPN, PCA, wound vacs, tube feeds, PEG tubes, NG tubes, colostomies, urostomies, drains (biliary, JP, nephrostomy), urinary caths, CBI, heparin drips, IV antibiotics, and various surgeries including bowel resections and urology surgeries.
Additional Information: Candidates should demonstrate a positive, engaging personality and be effective communicators with team members and providers. The unit operates under specific dress code requirements, and there are 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule.
