Fusion Medical Staffing – Nursing is seeking a Travel Nurse RN in Med Surg for a position in Lewiston, Maine.
Job Overview
Travel Med Surg RN for an 8‑week travel assignment. Expect to work 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts with competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and full support from the clinical team.

Required Qualifications
One year recent Med Surg RN experience
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
Preferred Qualifications
NIHSS certification
ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
Other certifications or licenses as required for the position
Responsibilities
Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions and document changes
Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians, and monitor patient responses
Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgery
Document patient information, including vital signs and care outcomes, in the medical record
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity
Ensure infection control practices are followed, including hand hygiene and PPE use
Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences
Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate with external resources
Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Essential Skills
Critical thinking, excellent communication, and service excellence
Proficiency in English, reading, writing, and listening
Basic PC skills and following written and verbal instructions
Physical ability to maintain stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push/pull, bend
Ability to work with diverse personnel professionally
Technical/motor skills for fine manipulation and assisting with procedures
Ability to cope with frequent public contact and work under pressure
Visual acuity and active communication skills
