Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) Days available in a general medical-surgical setting. This role involves providing routine and complex patient care, demonstrating independence and clinical awareness, and collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The position emphasizes adherence to established standards and protocols within a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
Certifications, Education, and Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred; 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred; BLS certification via AHA required; RN License in state of employment or a compact license; no experience requirement specified for the position
Responsibilities: Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation; address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families; administer medications and treatments, monitor for side effects, and document care; assess learning needs and educate patients and caregivers; make appropriate assignments and delegations
Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders; adherence to the ANAScope and Standards of Practice; effective communication and clinical decision-making; ability to manage contingencies and complex situations
Additional Information: This role is based in a basic medical-surgical unit with potential for a temporary position; no on‑call requirement; every other weekend workflow; EMR system used is Epic; dress code involves Ceil blue scrubs
