Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position in an acute care setting. This role involves providing essential patient care on a 23-bed medical surgical unit, with a focus on common diagnoses such as NSTEMI, COPD, PNA, sepsis, and AKI. The RN will work night shifts and be an integral part of a team dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
Position Description: Unit notes specify that the department has 23 beds on the 4th floor and 14 beds on the 3rd floor, with ideal ratios of 1:5, potentially going up to 1:7. The unit provides care for diagnoses including NSTEMI, COPD, PNA, Sepsis, and AKI.
Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license or confirmation that application has been initiated, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing, and a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience.
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: The role includes one day of department-specific orientation, and the unit has telehealth capabilities. No on-call requirements, but floating to ICU, ER, or Behavioral Health Center may be required for candidates with relevant experience. Scrub color is flexible, with an emphasis on good hygiene and proper footwear.
Submission Requirements: Last four digits of SSN, active Illinois license or proof of application, understanding of drug-free policy, and confirmation of requested time off.
