Job Summary
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical Floor specialty, located at a healthcare facility, with a focus on general medicine. The position involves providing patient care for a diverse population, including those with GI bleeds, COPD, CHF, diabetes complications, ESRD, dementia, TIA/stroke, A-Fib, hypertension, sepsis, and vascular issues. The role requires working night shifts and contributing to a supportive team environment within a teaching hospital setting.
Job Details
Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week.
Required Qualifications:
Valid nursing license, a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, and at least 1 year of experience in a Medical Surgical setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Cerner experience is preferred.
Additional Information: Position start date is 11/16/2026 with an end date of 02/13/2027.
The assignment includes charge responsibilities and potential for up to 20-week long assignments during the holiday season.
Traveler must work at least one major holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and/or New Years Day).
Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:6.
Ancillary support includes phlebotomy, EKG technicians, CNAs, and floor supply room resources.
The hospital is a teaching facility with regular interactions with students and new hires, fostering a culture of support.
Submission requirements include work history with a 2-year minimum experience, explanation for any gaps over 90 days, Skills Checklist, and a copy of Nursys/license.
