Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry Location: Cleveland Clinic Akron General, 1 Akron General Ave, Akron, OH 44307. Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00). Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week. Tentative Start Date: 03/31/2025. Job Duration: 13 weeks. Number of Positions: 3.
Compensation and Benefits
Weekly Gross: $2,295.00 per week
On W2 (Taxable): $720.00 per week
Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,575.00 per week
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital. This includes administering nursing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions while closely monitoring telemetry. The RN will work day shifts, providing 3 - 12 hour shifts per week, and will be expected to prioritize patient care and safety during treatment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
Monitor telemetry and respond to any significant changes in patient status
Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, to develop and implement patient care plans
Administer medications and treatments as ordered
Provide patient education and ensure families are informed
Adhere to infection control practices and maintain a sterile environment
Document patient care accurately in the EMR system (Qualivis – Lotus)
Complete required ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate tests during orientation
Work every other holiday as required by the facility
Job Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 18 months of recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
Licenses: Permanent Ohio RN license or Compact State RN license in hand at time of submission
Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required
ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation
Skills: Experience in telemetry monitoring and Med/Surg care
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in infection control practices and patient safety protocols
Other Requirements
References: Two professional references from a manager, supervisor, or director in the Med/Surg Telemetry specialty. Perm references required from the past 12 months
