Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts) | 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a Medical and Pediatrics unit, caring exclusively for adult patients (travelers do not take pediatric patients)
Manage a diverse adult patient population with diagnoses including respiratory illness, stroke, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal illness, diabetic management, renal failure, sepsis, wound care, and acute alcohol withdrawal
Maintain patient ratios of 1:4–5 on day shifts
Float to all inpatient units as needed throughout the facility
Accurately document all patient care activities using the EPIC electronic health record system
Collaborate with team members and ancillary staff to ensure the best possible patient experience while managing tasks independently and efficiently
Required Qualifications
Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
Ability to work every other weekend and every other holiday
Compliance with facility health and safety policies, including masking requirements for staff who decline flu and COVID vaccinations during flu season
Preferred Experience / Skills
Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
Demonstrated resilience and ability to manage change effectively in a fast-paced inpatient environment
Strong communication skills with a collaborative, positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to shift changes
