Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Acute Neuro , neuro acute care, stroke unit, or closely related high-acuity acute care specialty
Required Certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Preferred Certification: ACLS
Comfort working 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Strong neuro assessment skills, accurate documentation, and effective interdisciplinary communication
Acute Neuro RN Responsibilities
Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care on an acute neuro unit, including frequent neurological assessments and timely escalation of changes in condition per facility protocol
Monitor, document, and communicate patient status, neuro trends, and responses to treatments and interventions
Administer medications and therapies as ordered in accordance with unit standards, hospital policies, and patient safety guidelines
Collaborate with physicians, neurology teams, therapy services, and ancillary departments to support individualized plans of care and smooth transitions
Deliver patient and family education related to diagnoses, procedures, stroke/neuro recovery expectations, and discharge planning as appropriate
